Why SupplySide Global Matters to Us
SupplySide Global is the biggest show of the year for our industry, and it’s where many brands start planning their next launch. Founders, brand managers, and product developers come to see what’s new and to meet the partners who will help them build it.
This year, the show is expanding to a three-day expo hall. For us, that means more time for real conversations instead of rushed ones. We’d rather spend twenty minutes understanding where your brand is headed than two minutes handing you a brochure.
The show is also a research trip for our team. SupplySide brings together ingredient suppliers from around the world, and many of them introduce new raw materials and branded ingredients there. What we learn on the floor goes straight back to our customers. When a brand comes to us with a new formulation goal, we can point to ingredients we’ve seen, the studies behind them, and whether they’re a fit for what you’re trying to do.
What We’re Watching on the Floor
Here’s what our team expects to be talking about in Las Vegas.
Metabolic support is still the biggest conversation.
The GLP-1 wave hasn’t slowed down. Brands are developing appetite support, blood sugar balance, and metabolic health formulations, and they’re looking for cleaner formats to deliver them.
Protein keeps finding new formats.
Clear proteins, lighter textures, and new ways to consume protein are pulling the category beyond the traditional sports nutrition shopper. For protein brands, format is now one of the biggest opportunities to stand out.
Personalization is moving toward scale.
More brands want customized products without giving up efficient production. We wrote about what that requires from a manufacturing partner in Personalized Vitamins, Customized at Scale.
Our team at SupplySide is small on purpose, so every conversation gets real attention. Here’s who to look for at the booth.
Joseph Guddemi
Sr Manager of Sales & Customer Service
Joseph Guddemi has 15 years of sales experience, including five at NutraStar, where he serves as Senior Manager of Sales & Customer Service. His areas of expertise are botanicals and longevity products.
During his time at NutraStar, Joseph has onboarded a number of well-established, award-winning brands in the industry, bringing them into NutraStar’s manufacturing partnerships and supporting them through the transition.
Outside of work, Joseph is a father of four and serves as a pastor.
Michael DeAngelis brings about 15 years of sales experience to his role as Senior Account Executive at NutraStar, including 12 years at Sherwin-Williams before joining NutraStar three years ago. He focuses on sports nutrition and cognitive health, with experience in custom formulations and USDA Organic products.
Michael especially enjoys helping brands work through complex formulations, from the first round of development to a finished product that ends up in someone’s gym bag. He places a high value on strong customer relationships and sees his role as saving his customers time and taking hassles off their plate, so they can put more of their energy into growing their business.
Outside of work, Michael spends his time with Dino, his eight-year-old black Lab.
Christopher Nocciolo brings 10 years of sales experience to his role as Senior Account Executive at NutraStar, where he has worked for the past four years. His primary focus is powder products, particularly hydration and longevity formulations. He also handles a significant volume of capsule work, including NMN and liposomal products.
One of Christopher’s favorite projects began with a customer who arrived with an idea and a rough ingredient list. Over several weeks, he worked with them on formula development, testing, and dose adjustments to find what would perform well in a capsule format. He stayed involved through labeling, compliance review, and the first production run, seeing the product through from an initial conversation to a finished item on retail shelves.
Outside of work, Christopher is an avid sports fan, with golf at the top of the list. He’ll choose a weekend round over almost anything else, and he’s always chasing the one great shot that keeps him coming back.
Zachary Szeles brings 10 years of sales experience to his role as Senior Account Executive at NutraStar, where he has worked for the past two years. He specializes in sports nutrition and flavored powder products.
Among his proudest accomplishments, Zachary grew one client account tenfold in just 18 months, supporting that brand’s expansion as its product demand increased.
Outside of work, Zachary’s two favorite places are the movie theater and the beach.
Jessica House brings more than 20 years of experience in sales, business development, and management to her role as Account Executive at NutraStar, where she is approaching her first anniversary. She specializes in powder products, working with brand owners to source raw materials from their preferred vendors and customize formulations around their specific product goals.
Jessica works closely with business owners as they move from concept to finished product, supporting them through market launch and preparation to scale. She considers that process one of the most rewarding parts of her work.
As a mother of four, Jessica manages competing priorities every day, and she brings the same organization and attention to detail to each customer’s project. She aims to be a reliable, responsive partner who keeps her customers’ interests first, and she takes their success personally.
Khris Rodriguez brings eight years of sales experience to his role as Account Executive at NutraStar. He specializes in dietary supplement contract manufacturing, with particular depth in capsules, tablets, and powder products. His experience spans custom formulation, product development, ingredient sourcing, and packaging.
Khris works with brands from initial concept through finished product, helping them solve problems along the way, launch successfully, and grow their businesses. He focuses on long-term partnerships rather than individual transactions, and he believes those partnerships rest on three things: understanding each customer’s goals, being transparent, and providing reliable service.
Outside of work, Khris enjoys spending time with his family and his two dogs.
Vincent Giordano brings six years of sales experience to his role as Account Executive at NutraStar, where he has worked for the past two years. He specializes in powder products.
One of Vincent’s proudest projects involved partnering with a brand on a new product from the first formula concept through sampling, revisions, and full production. The product went on to become a successful SKU on Amazon and on retail shelves nationwide, earning repeat customers along the way. For Vincent, seeing a product he helped build from scratch succeed in the market is what makes the work worthwhile.
Vincent supports his clients well beyond the quote, staying involved from formulation through finished product. His goal is to keep the production process as hands-off as possible for his customers, so they can focus their energy on growing their brand.
Sean Ward has spent his nearly three-year sales career at NutraStar, starting as a Business Development Representative before moving into his current role as Account Executive. He specializes in capsule products and works extensively with magnesium formulations.
Sean takes a close look at the details behind each quote. In one project, he identified a gap between a brand’s target pricing and its full ingredient list. That insight allowed NutraStar to rework the quote around what the formula actually needed, bringing the project in line with the brand’s budget.
Outside of work, Sean is a big Philadelphia sports fan.
Marcus Ganz has spent his entire 11-year sales career at NutraStar, where he serves as Senior Account Executive. He works across NutraStar’s non-powder formats, including capsules, tablets.
One of the partnerships Marcus is proudest of began with a brand launching two SKUs. Over the past eight years, he has helped that brand grow its line to more than 40 products. He has also guided many brands through Amazon’s compliance requirements, helping them get products approved and selling on the platform.
Outside of work, Marcus loves to travel and explore national parks.
We’re not booking rigid meeting slots. Just let us know you’re planning to stop by, which day works best for you, and what you’d like to discuss. We’ll make sure the right people are at the booth, whether that’s someone from sales, R&D, or quality.
You don’t need a finished formula to have a productive conversation with us. A few things help us give you useful answers right away:
A direction. Know the category you’re targeting, who the product is for, and what you want it to do.
Realistic quantities. We’re built for brands that are ready to scale. Knowing your expected volumes helps us recommend the right production approach from day one.
Honest timeline expectations. From first call to product ready to ship, a realistic window is 10 to 12 weeks, assuming your side is prepared. Raw material lead times, label approvals, and QA review all take time.
